Friday 9th october, in a rare-joint meeting between CONPHAK staffs and Board members marked the conclusion of a comprehensive two-weeks review of the CONPHAK’s policies through the official approval and adoption. The exercise serves as a critical exercise in the institution’s strengthening agenda. With financial support from Amref Health Africa in Kenya, the exercise aimed at ensuring that all CONPHAK’s institutional frameworks remain industry-relevant and are directly aligned with the newly revised strategic goals. By reviewing the existing frameworks against contemporary industry benchmarks, the exercise aimed at modernization of the operating guidelines. The primary objective was to operationalize the new strategic plan, translating high-level organizational goals into practical, compliant, and forward-looking internal policies. To ensure inclusivity, ownership and holistic governance, the review adopted a multi-stakeholder approach bringing together the staffs, board members and beneficiaries. Staff members provided practical insights on operational feasibility, day-to-day procedural compliance, and workflow optimization while board members played a critical role in ensuring legal compliance, fiduciary oversight, and alignment with macro-level institutional governance standards. Beneficiaries on the other hand offered vital feedback on service delivery impact, accessibility, rights protection, and community accountability. Amref Health Africa in Kenya together with Kenya Red Cross Society offered technical support throughout the exercise. A total of 12 policies were reviewed and approved. The finalized policies will now move into the orientation and implementation phase to ensure seamless adoption across all departments. As a team charged with the responsibility of implementation, we understand our roles in ensuring that the policies are translated into the actions and operations going forward.
